Welcome to the New Player section of DR:NJ! If you’ve ambled over here chances are you’re a new player checking out what this larp thing is about, you’re a returning player who hasn’t been out in a while, or you’re a veteran larper trying to decide if Dystopia Rising is the right game for you.

Good news, you’re in the right place.

First things first…

LARP, or live-action roleplay involves fully inhabiting your character while you play. Instead of sitting at a table and rolling dice players live as their character from game on Friday night, until Noon on Sunday.

Dystopia Rising is a horror survival game. Each player inhabits the life of a strain who is trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with zombies, raiders, mutated monsters, psychotic warlords, mad scientists…and plenty more.

When you play at DR:NJ you are in play for most, if not all, of your weekend. This means eating, sleeping, and socializing all happen in-character, and things can go sideways at any time.

You’ll be meeting up in the local settlement Leeds where there always seems to be new trouble on the horizon. Filled with the displaced survivors of Hayven, folks returning to settlements after the Three-Year horde, and travelers making a pit stop, there is always something going on.
